I find these photos tragically gorgeous. It's not unlike the place I grew up, where I find my soul, and there's such a wondrous beauty to the bleakness. But, yes, hard to handle if you are not used to it.

I know that, friend. And I totally understand the whole "you don't know what you've got until it's gone" thing. Have been there myself. :)
